Appreciative Thursday: What blessings in disguise have you been experiencing lately?

The Universe has been a blessing every single day. At times I am oblivious to some of the blessings that it sends my way. Therefore, every moment good, bad, or indifferent can become blessings in disguise. From the minute I wake up in the morning and start the momentum by expressing gratitude, the Universe receives that vibration and sends back countless blessings.

However, there are times when my days don’t go as planned and those are the moments that I discover the blessings in disguise. Back in late February and early March, I wrote articles about detaching, and I have been mindfully practicing detachment in my life.

About two weeks after I wrote the last piece on detachment, I lost a ring that my mom gifted to me over 20+ years ago. I wore this ring every day because it was my way of always keeping my mom with me, so this ring became part of who I was.

I searched for the ring but could not find it, and therefore I decided to let it go. However, I noticed that my finger feels naked, especially when I am driving, I become aware that the ring is no longer there. I consider losing this ring a blessing in disguise because it taught me to detach from the possessions that I have. At any point, those material things can be easily removed from my life.

As the days go by, it has become easier to detach from the missing ring and I am grateful to have lost it because I gained a valuable lesson. My hope is that if someone has the ring, it became a blessing in disguise for them. I am truly grateful for this life lesson on detachment. Thank you Universe.
