Why do guys stare at your breasts

This question was asked on Quora in August last year (2018). The following was my answer. It was by far my most viewed answer on Quora ever (43.1k views, 165 upvotes).

First off I don’t condone staring at a woman’s breasts. I have been guilty of it on occasion but I have no excuse. It is wrong and it is plain rude.

So let’s ask why men are so fascinated by breasts?

I am absolutely fascinated by breasts and have spent a lifetime trying to fully understand why. But I’ll give you what I’ve come up with so far.

Look I really could write ten thousand words on this topic but I think this might just give you an idea what causes us to want to stare at breasts.
