Give Your Best And Leave The Rest

Getting a job seems really impossible these days as job markets are getting saturated day by day. In this situation, the main question is how to secure a job? How to differentiate yourself from hundreds of other candidates? How to impress your potential employers? According to experts the answer is “Show your PASSION and COMMITMENT” during the job process. This answer is not as simple as it arouses some other genuine questions in mind. How can a recruiter judge that we are really passionate about securing a job compared to others?

Here I got the answer to all the question goes some extra mile in your journey. Submitting an online application, researching about the company is something that all candidates do. You can become prominent among others by In-person drop. Here my tip is research about your dream company’s HR manager, prepare yourself and take an appointment to meet him personally. Now the question is if he is not available? If he didn’t want to meet? This is the point where your passion reflects. Make strategies to meet the officials one way or the other. If they are too busy to have one on one conversation with you follow them you will ultimately get a chance to meet. The caution here just follows don’t stalk. Don’t enter into personal space.

I would like to mention my personal experience here. Being an electrical engineer, it is my dream to work in Switzerland based power company ABB. Unfortunately, ABB has a very limited workforce in Pakistan. I have decided to drop my resume and CV personally in ABBs office. I did a thorough research about the company’s HR and other officials. Catered my resumes according to the requirements, took an appointment and went there for the in-person drop. Firstly, the guard at the gate didn’t allow me to enter the premises as it is an international firm and high-security concerns. After a few requests finally, I was allowed to enter the office after an hour. Yet the problems don’t end there now there was the barrier of reception to cross. I enquired about the HR Manager and I was informed that he was not in the office as he left for UAE today for a meeting.

Alas, here my passion began to fade away. But the principle of extra mile needs to be implemented so I went back after two days and to my surprise, this time faced little resistance. Met with a manager just for 5 minutes. Those five minutes meeting was really a surprise for me as he talked so nicely opposite to the image of HRs crafted in mind. He listened patiently about my objectives of visiting the office. I explained to him and handed over my resume. He replied that we will get back to you. After coming back I sent him follow up thank you email. Now, FINGERS CROSSED.

The purpose of narrating this incident here is to give you an idea that you always face difficulties in the way of achieving something great. At least you should try till last and leave rest to God. I have a personal belief that if you give your best you will be rewarded sooner or later. Moreover, you also get an internal satisfaction that you have tried at least. So, buckle readers and get ready for an in-person drop in your dream company.

BEST OF LUCK!
