My Placement with Hilti

My time working for Hilti has had me pleasantly surprised to say the least. Although it has been the most challenging experience I have had to undertake in both my professional and educational path up to date, I have enjoyed every minute of it. Before starting I was told it was a brilliant ‘schooling’ company, that is the case. Yes I have spent time packing boxes and making coffees as the lowest element of the hierarchy intern but I was also selling hundreds and thousands of euros worth of merchandise to clients after only two weeks. The main element that really makes this placement a pleasure rather than a chore is that I am selling premium quality products. Known by many as the ‘Ferrari of tools’, the clients that step into a Hilti store or that are visited by a sales rep know that they are not only buying a fantastic product (superior on many levels compared to the competitors) but also a brilliant service that follows. It has taught me how to act and carry myself in highly professional surroundings, where rash decisions and immature reactions can be critical to your time in the company. I am grateful that I was able to live this experience and I truly believe that it will not only help me to know what I want to do in the business world once I graduate but also help me concentrate on subjects that I have actually seen implemented in real life situations
