LO6

What did I create this tri and did I meet the deadlines

Black fox was my main area of design this trimester and by far the most agonizing. I made several things for Black Fox which were; logo, poster, black and white cardboard packaging box, stickers, persona mock-ups, product mock-ups, business and cards and by far my most hated, and advertisement. Now if im going to go over the things that worked and didn’t work the list will be very different, the logo worked out beautifully and really like the finished result, the geometric style that I used to create the logo was by far a new area for me as I hadn’t really designed much sing that style so I really enjoyed that design. The second which I found interesting but also quite frustrating was the packaging side of things, the packing box itself wasn’t hard to design, but actually making it and making it fit was the hardest things. The business card worked out really well and was shown by a fellow class mate how to use the “di cut” machine which made cutting them out slightly easier. The poster was a breeze but the most difficult part was making sure that is was proportioned properly and that the Ute and the most looked organic and that they were to different images, but it came out really good, and was thrilled with the finished product.

Spruke

Hmm Spruke. For those of your reading who don’t know what Spruke is it’s a ukulele festival held in Brisbane every two years, and this year we were asked to make posters and a new logo for next year’s event. So I went about making my poster and logo concepts. My first two logo concepts were of a guitar pick, and the tuners on the end of the ukulele and one was received well however the one with the pick was not as I was later told that they don’t use picks. The poster where unique as well but they didn’t quite make the cut. My first poster concept had the original logo on separate images but with the same back ground depicting the purple flowers of Southbank near where the event will be held and the second had a few musical notes in the back ground which were my favourites but unfortunately neither of my design were picked

Self id

For my “self Id” I chose to go down the vintage path. And I have a soft spot for vintage style design I decided to go in this direction design three logos which in the end I absolutely hated. Therefor i began to enlist the help of my class mates to give my some inspiration. And it was a success I managed to design three that I really like and finalised on two with and orange outlined deigns being my favourite and a black one for other uses. I then made my “self Id” vintage style timber box which took up so much of my time it was unbelievable, and in the future if I decide to do this again my time management will definitely be look upon and reworked and with the printing of my business cards I managed to get all my “self Id” work done. However and this was most unfortunately that I had some outside issue occur the week of handover, and this didn’t allow me to hand it in on time as I was in no fit state to be in front of people let alone be near power tools so this had to be put on hold for a while until I was able to make a good job and something that I would be happy with

I did some interdisciplinary work for an audio student, named Simon. He asked me to create a logo for him and his brand “SV productions” he said that we wasn’t too hard to impress but he wanted something that was different but that someone could understand that he was a DJ and music producer. So I showed him a few concepts I had from my work last trimester 4 with the Trans music group “IWTFA” which was a complete nightmare, but working with Simon has been great her gave me free reign, obviously within his brief of what he wanted but in regards to colour and layout.

So as you can see I reused the headphone concept form last trimester and because the client wasn’t happy with my work then, it didn’t come under copyright. So Simon really liked this and was very happy with the finished result.
