I NEED A MILK FROTHER FOR MY NESPRESSO MACHINE

As a total coffee noob, I was recently gifted a fancy Nespresso coffee machine. And it’s awesome! I know it’s only a very basic one, without all the bells and whistles (in fact it only has 2 buttons), but I get to enjoy a coffee at home, whenever I want (and that’s not everyday), without having to mess around with coffee beans etc. I can choose and enjoy different flavours, intensities, etc as well. My Nespresso machine is so simple to use- throw the pod in and press a button (espresso or lungo). Now I love going to the local supermarket to pick my favourite Starbucks blend. I haven’t yet managed to make it to the official Nespresso store, as we’re trying to avoid malls right now due to the pandemic, but I’ll get there one day too. I hear that there are even more varieties there and it’s so magical!

I also want to get some milk into some of my hot beverages. And I think I might want to try my hand at making some Disney-inspired latte art too. So, I’ve been doing my own online research to see what others recommend / don’t recommend when it comes to milk frothers. There is a huge range of prices, from $29 to over $250! A lot of the cheaper ones seem to not cut the mustard. They don’t heat the milk properly, break easily, and they are apparently very difficult to clean. But at the same time, I’m also very aware that most reviews are posted by people who are dissatisfied with a product; rarely do people take the time to post a positive review. What this means is that not all cheap frothers are bad and conversely, not all expensive frothers are good. Decisions, decisions…. So far, this looks like the one I might be getting:

Once I’ve finalised my decision, I will probably make my purchase at a physical store rather than online. Only because I don’t want to wait ages or pay for shipping, and there are stores near me that are never too busy. When it’s time to visit a store, I will make the decision as to where I’ll go based on a number of different factors, all relating to my perceived customer experience (I tend to have a long memory for which stores I enjoyed visiting in the past).

In a nutshell, these are the reasons why I might not want to buy my new milk frother from your store:

Business is all about customer experience and branding. Firstly, potential customers need to know that you’re around. And once they do, you’ve got to make them want to come to you. Whether it’s because you’re cheaper (not always the most important reason), more convenient, or you offer a superior experience. The more the customer enjoys buying from you, the more likely they are to give you repeat business or recommend you to somebody they know. This is how you build brand 😀
